When using the referrer rule type the link must open in the same tab (ie. a google search result link). If however, you're using a referral link that opens in a new tab, there's no way for us to know where the referral came from (This is not unique to Context).
How to create a new Context recipe which uses the Referer rule type
- Navigate to the Recipes tab and select the desired recipe
- Select the Rules tab and create a rule
- Select the Referer rule type
- Add one or more referer URLs
- Click Save. That’s it! Simple right?

Now that you’ve added a Customer Segment condition to your recipe, add other rule types such as Customer segment(s), Date range, UTM parameters, Weather and Geographic location to expand or refine your conditions.
